Terms of Service
Welcome to Sprawl! These terms govern your use of our app. By using the service, you agree to them. We wrote these in plain language because we believe you should actually understand what you are agreeing to.
Beta Software Notice
Right now, Sprawl is in a "Beta" testing phase. This means the app is a work in progress and is still under active development. You may encounter bugs, glitches, or missing features.
Importantly, we reserve the right to reset accounts, wipe the database, or introduce breaking changes at any time without notice. Please do not use Sprawl to store critical information or data you cannot afford to lose. You are using this service at your own risk.
1. Who Can Use Sprawl
You must be at least 13 years old (or older, depending on where you live) to use Sprawl. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
2. Your Data Belongs to You
You own everything you create in Sprawl — your tasks, notes, checklists, and any other content. We do not claim any ownership over your data.
To actually run the app, you do grant us a basic license to host, store, and display your data on your devices and to whom you share it with. We only access your data to provide and maintain the service, fix problems when you ask for help, or if legally required to do so.
You may export or delete your data at any time (after the beta, currently those features do not exist).
3. Acceptable Use
Use Sprawl for lawful purposes. Do not use the service to:
- Break any local, state, or international laws.
- Harass, abuse, or harm others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other user accounts.
- Overload, disrupt, or interfere with the service.
- Scrape or extract data through automated means without permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
4. Service Availability ("As Is")
Sprawl is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep the service running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime, and we do not offer warranties of any kind. Downtime for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen bugs may occur.
We may change, update, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We will do our best to communicate significant changes in advance.
5. Account & Termination
You are responsible for keeping your account password secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
We may terminate accounts that violate these terms or remain inactive for an extended period, providing notice where possible.
6. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sprawl and its creator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including data loss, lost profits, or business interruption — arising from your use of the service. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, we strongly recommend maintaining your own backups for critical work.
If you use Sprawl to do something illegal or harmful, and we get sued because of it, you agree to cover our legal costs and damages.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (like sending an email or posting a notice in the app). Your continued use of Sprawl after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
